About Aerosol Fire Extinguishing Systems

The aerosol fire extinguishing system is an innovative fire protection solution with high efficiency and relatively low costs. Aerosol extinguishing systems are widely used for both real estate and movable property fire safety.

Aerosol fire extinguishing systems are typically used in buildings and spaces where firefighting with water is not possible or would be ineffective, and where a different type of automatic fire suppression system is required, similar to gas fire suppression systems commonly known in Latvia.

The main advantages of aerosol fire extinguishing systems:

  • High fire suppression efficiency – suitable for A, B, C, and F fire classes (according to EN2 classification) and A, B, and C (according to NFPA10 classification).
  • Lower costs – in installation and maintenance.
  • Space economy – the system occupies significantly less space than a gas fire suppression system or other alternative systems (no separate storage room is required, no pipes are needed).
  • Pressure-free system – does not create pressure in the room when activated, and the room being protected does not need to maintain perfect airtightness.
  • Environmentally friendly and harmless to humans.
  • Aerosols leave no residues – do not damage surrounding equipment and products.

Industries where aerosol fire extinguishing systems are most commonly used:

  • Agriculture (agricultural machinery, product warehouses).
  • Energy and electrical engineering (electrical distribution rooms, electrical stations, substations, transformers, diesel generators, cogeneration stations, nuclear power plants).
  • Chemistry and pharmaceuticals (laboratories, drug manufacturing factories, flammable material storage rooms).
  • Transport sector (light and heavy vehicles, transport manufacturing plants, engine compartments).
  • Defense sector (military equipment fire safety).
  • Aviation (air transport, airports, aircraft maintenance hangars).
  • Food industry (warehouses, raw material processing and conversion equipment, packaging units, large cooling equipment, etc.).
  • Historical sites (museums, cultural monuments, archives).
  • Hospitality / tourism (restaurant kitchens, hotel room electrical and technical equipment).
  • Industry (all types of large and small production equipment, production rooms, warehouses).
  • Shipping industry (ships, yachts, boats).
  • Media industry (television towers, radio stations, telecommunication networks).
  • Renewable energy sector (wind turbines, solar panels, biomass, biogas, hydroelectric power stations).
  • Retail / wholesale (warehouses, store rooms, shopping center rooms).
