In Latvia, within the framework of the green course, various types of electric vehicles are being used more widely. Electromobility is becoming increasingly modern, and the distances we are able to travel are increasing, while battery technologies are also advancing. Lithium-ion batteries are primarily used for powering electric vehicles.

From a fire safety perspective, the world currently knows how to effectively extinguish a fire if it occurs in a combustion engine-powered vehicle. However, extinguishing a fire caused by lithium-ion batteries with water is not effective, and it can even pose additional dangers.
