Risks of fire hazards in solar panels and how to mitigate them

Solar panels are currently a relevant and globally known technology that provides clean energy. When providing electricity using solar panels, special attention must be paid to their fire safety, as properties equipped with solar panels become potentially more vulnerable to fire hazards.

Electricity does not flow in just one direction, but rather rapidly changes direction, and to convert the direct current generated by solar panels into alternating current, it is important to equip solar panels with inverters. These devices can be potentially dangerous, as they may pose fire risks.

Meanwhile, in a building equipped with a solar panel system, there are batteries that store the generated electricity, which can also present certain fire hazards.

To ensure the absolute operational safety of solar panels, we, BSAFETY, in cooperation with the fire safety system manufacturer FirePro, offer the installation of an effective and safe fire safety solution for solar panel systems – an aerosol fire suppression system.

The aerosol fire suppression system detects and extinguishes a fire in its initial stages, while causing no material damage to the property, as would be possible if the fire were extinguished using a water-based fire suppression system or extinguished with dry fire extinguishing agents.

Main advantages of using FirePro aerosol fire suppression solutions in solar panel systems:

  • Low cost – installation and maintenance;
  • High fire suppression efficiency – suitable for A, B, C, and F fire classes;
  • Automatic fire detection and suppression;
  • No residue left – does not damage surrounding equipment;
  • Environmentally and human-friendly system;
  • Long certified service life – 15 years.
